Contrary to the press releases the Financial Industry have been churning out recently, consumers are still winning back their unfair Penalty Charges for Credit Cards and Catalogue companies.
Although there has been a halt in successful claims against banks and their charges on current accounts, it is still possible to successfully claim charges back from other types of accounts.
In the last month, there has been a flurry of successes. Of note, one forum member on British Consumer recently won back £780 plus interest of £238.59 from Barclaycard! Another member won back £60 from J.D.Williams, who owns a collection of mail order catalogues. In both cases, there was no need to even go to the small claims court!
Even though the shambles with the OFT Test Case means that claims against current accounts are difficult, the Test Case did not cover other Credit Accounts, such as Credit Cards or Catalogues. It is also still possible to claim back any mis-sold Payment Protection Insurance (PPI).
It is still easy to claim the above items back, and what’s better, you can do it yourself for free! The experienced members on British Consumer are always eager to help where they can.
If you’ve won your charges or PPI back, why not let us know? Go to the “Success Stories” section of the forum and tell us all about it.
